Literature

Written by members, NA literature offers identification and a message of hope to the still-suffering addict. Revised and expanded over the decades, the message of our written materials remains the same: An addict, any addict, can stop using drugs, lose the desire to use, and find a new way to live.

The NA program is a way of life based in the Twelve Steps. The steps offer members an avenue for growth. We learn to apply these steps in our day-to-day affairs by reading NA literature and going to meetings. In the end, we maintain our recovery by changing our lives.

NA literature is a great source of information about our program. The Basic Text – Narcotics Anonymous – or our information pamphlets (IPs) are a good place to start. Most meetings offer the IPs for free. However, books are generally sold at the group’s cost. Most of our written materials is also available to read at the NA World Services website.

The collective experience of NA members can be heard in our books and pamphlets, illustrating how we live life on life’s terms.

The Literature Distribution Officer

The Tampa Funcoast Area Service Committee elects a Literature Distribution Officer to serve the needs of the groups. In this role, the LDO delivers the groups’ purchases and maintains a stockpile of recovery and service oriented materials. In addition, this person prepares a monthly report of inventory and orders. Finally, as a welcoming gesture, the LDO provides new groups with a starter package. These packages include pamphlets, meeting schedules, and various service materials to facilitate hosting NA meetings.

You may download the Tampa Funcoast ASC’s Literature Order Form. Along with prices, this form lists books, booklets, pamphlets, service materials and accessories available through the ASC. You may order materials in English and Spanish.

Also, you may order and find out more about our recovery and service materials at NA world Services.
